Swarm Rescue
The CCBA Swarm Team consists of a group of members who are skilled in removing swarmed bees- often in trees, bushes, etc. before they go to their new home. Timing is critical for response as often bees are only at this intermediary location for a short while. If you see a large ball of bees out in the open, give us a call and the Swarm Team will attempt to move the bees to a safe location.
Have you seen bees flying through the air in a big group?
Call the number to let us know where and when you saw the bees. Again, timing is of the essence, as the bees are only swarming for a short period of time.
Guidance for Cut-Outs
Have a honey bee colony that has established a hive somewhere on your property? The CCBA Swarm Team keeps a list of local cut-out service providers. These folks are specially trained, certified individuals that can carefully and safety remove a colony of bees from a building, flooring, roof, you name it! Note: this unique service is provided at a cost.
Is it a swarm?
If you’re not sure whether what you’re seeing is a swarm, take a look at this YouTube video: Honey bee swarm at the Mus. of Natural Sciences, Raleigh NC
*Capturing swarms should not be attempted unless you are a trained beekeeper. The bees are relatively docile, but they can sting even in this state.
