CCBA Bee School – 2026

Cumberland County Beekeepers Association will be hosting our next Beginner Beekeeper School cohort in January and February. This three-session course is designed specifically for new and prospective beekeepers who want to learn the fundamentals before getting their first hive.
Bee school provides a comprehensive introduction to the art and science of beekeeping, covering essential topics such as honey bee biology, hive components and tools, common pests and diseases, seasonal apiary management, and what to realistically expect during your first year as a beekeeper. The goal is to equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to start beekeeping responsibly and successfully.
Attendance is strongly recommended for anyone considering beekeeping prior to investing in bees or equipment. Review the details below and register early, as class sizes are limited.
- Session dates: January 31, February 7, and February 14 (Saturdays)
- Time: 8AM to Noon
- Location: 301 East Mountain Drive – Fayetteville, NC (Cumberland County Ag Extension Auditorium)
- Cost: $60, payable via Square
- Course cost includes: “First Lesson in Beekeeping” book, a USB drive with course and reference materials, and 2026 membership to both North Carolina State Beekeepers Association and the local chapter membership of student’s home location.

Class will be taught by Master Beekeeper John Kasprak and other beekeepers certified through the state Master Beekeeper Program.
